We do Sewing Retreats so well we’ve had to add an extra week -yay! yes 3 separate weeks of unadulterated sewing nirvana- whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced seamstress…you are all welcome …. sounds good! it is and that’s because we are committed to offering The best possible service delivered and beautiful surroundings in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. There are many options for you to choose from for instance you might like to bring along an unfinished project which you may need help with. Or you may need inspiration For a new project and I can help you with that too. There again, you may just want to bring your embroidery or patchwork and that’s absolutely fine with me! my favourite category of all is beginners. You would be amazed what you can achieve in one week! There is also another category and you know who you are ladies - The timid Sewing wannabe. You have a sewing machine and you have it out of the box and it’s sitting there Unused and unloved because it looks a bit scary. This is particularly true of overlocker machines.So if you have an overlocker which you need to master, you found the right place to go!

The two sewing retreats in 2024 were hugely successful and many guests are returning this year…. so much so we have just added a third week to cope with demand
My Sewing retreats for ladies only. This is due to the accommodation and the dynamics of the rooms available. All our rooms are lovely and I pride myself on offering individually and tastefully decorated rooms in the classic French style.
for guest bedrooms are located in our gite And we occasionally use one of the many bedrooms in the main house if demand requires it. Several rooms have ensuite facilities and there are other large bathrooms which are shared.
Let me explain
We own a large very old farmhouse (Chez Dauve) near Barbezieux which is a half hours drive from Cognac.
We converted our barn into a gite (Maison D’hibou) and this is where we host our sewing holidays or as I like to call them RETREATS
